CHECK YOUR PROPERTY

Include city and state for best results. Street address alone works for most Fulton County properties.

We'll email you when this project advances. No spam.

HOW WE KNOW THIS

Where this comes from.

GDOT publishes which road projects are funded and where each one runs on the map. Fulton County publishes the boundary of every parcel in it, and we hold 374,685 of them. We measure from the center of GDOT's published project line to your property boundary. That distance is what the check above gives you.

We only count a project once GDOT has it under construction, in the construction work program, or in the long range program. Those are the ones the state intends to build. Studies and concepts that may never happen are left out.

What we cannot tell you is how much of your property is affected. GDOT draws the right of way line late, project by project, and until they do nobody knows, including them. We measure to the centerline, so close to the line is not the same as inside the take.

WHAT THE PLANS SAY ABOUT YOUR PROPERTY

We read GDOT's own documents for your address.

Knowing a project is near you is the free part. What GDOT's plans actually say about your parcel is the part nobody tells you. We find the documents for the project nearest your address, read them, and write you a plain report: what is drawn near your land, what stage it is at, what happens next, and whether you need a lawyer, a broker, or neither.

$49, delivered within 24 hours.

If GDOT has not drawn a take line for your parcel yet, we will tell you that plainly. We do not guess at what will be taken.

Finding out you are not affected is an answer, and we will say so plainly. We refund you if the project never moves to construction, or if our analysis reveals there is no proximal connection between the parcel and the project.

THE ACQUISITION PROCESS

What happens after right-of-way is authorized

When the state authorizes right-of-way acquisition, a defined legal process follows. The steps below apply generally to government property acquisitions in Georgia.

This is general information about the acquisition process, not legal advice. Consult an attorney about your specific situation.

STEP 1 OF 6

Right-of-way authorization

The state authorizes acquisition of property needed for the project. Individual owner notification is required by law before acquisition proceeds.

SEPARATE FROM ROAD PROJECTS

Edged Energy Atlanta Data Center has an active large-load power permit in Fulton County.

This is separate from the road projects listed above. Large power consumers — data centers, industrial facilities — are often the first public signal of major area development. Projects at this scale typically precede infrastructure expansion, including road capacity, in the surrounding area.
